Artist Bio

 

Robert J Petrillo has been a resident of the Sarasota community for roughly ten years. He has also lived in: Miami, Fl; Savannah, Ga; Wilmington, Nc; Dayton, Oh; Vermilion, Ohio and birth place Grove City, Pa (c.1976).

 

Robert attended the Ohio Institute of Photography & Technology in Dayton, Ohio and graduated with an Associates Degree in Commercial Photography. At OIP&T he received several print awards and studied under well known photographers like Paula Willmot Kraus and Jeff Combs. Robert also received a generous portfolio scholarship to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga (c.2003).

 

Robert's gallery showings include: 530 Burns Gallery, Sarasota, Fl (c.2015); Anna Maria Island Artist Guild, Holmes Beach, Fl (c.2007); Town and Country Fine Art Gallery, Dayton, Oh (c.2002). Other Showings include: storefront windows for the Town of Surfside, Fl (c. 2011 thru present) and "Three for Show" on three different occasions at the Starbucks Bradenton, Fl (c.2008, 2009, 2010). 

 

Robert's main focus remains dedicated to landscape photography where he strives to capture the simplicity and beauty of nature. His work emphasizes subjects like out of focus, dilapidation, shrubbery, flowers and his latest topic, seascapes. Robert has also worked professionally as a portrait and wedding photographer since 2002.  Robert wishes to continue to hone his craft in digital photography, photoshop, printing techniques, and presentation.
